Dave is a Professional Member of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA), and a member of the Archaeological Society of B.C., the Canadian Archaeological Association, and the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce. Dave has a Master of Arts degree in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University (SFU) and a Certificate of Public History (SFU). Dave has held over 130 Heritage Inspection Permits in B.C. on the Coast, on the Plateau, and in the Kootenays.
Jonathan is a Professional Member of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA), and a member of the Archaeological Society of B.C., the Society for American Archaeology, and the Canadian Archaeological Association. Jonathan has been working as a consulting archaeologist in B.C. for over fifteen years. Having worked on a wide array of archaeological assessments throughout the Coastal and Interior regions of B.C., his expertise includes settlement patterns, prehistoric land-use, housepit archaeology, and stone tool technology. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University in 2007. His thesis research focused on the settlement patterns of the Mid-Fraser Region of B.C., examining the relationship between the size of housepit settlements and their proximity to natural resources. He has been working with Arrowstone since 2007, and has been holding Heritage Inspection and Site Alteration Permits in B.C. since 2015.
Chris has been working in research-based and consulting archaeology in B.C. for over fifteen years. He received his Ph.D. in Archaeology from Simon Fraser University in 2018. Chris’ doctoral research examined the relationship between built environments, social organization, and notions of territory and tenure among ancestral Coast Salish communities in the Salish Sea region. He has been working as a consulting archaeologist with Arrowstone since 2012 on various projects on the southern and northern coasts of the province and in the mid-Fraser region of the interior plateau.
Arrowstone utilizes an extensive network of independent professionals in various fields (GIS, faunal analysts, physical anthropologists, ethnobotanists, etc.) on an as needed basis in order to tackle any sized job. Accordingly, Arrowstone’s business model allows for very low overhead meaning that the cost of assessments and charge out rates are often substantially lower than other competitors. Arrowstone is committed to providing its clients quality assessments at a competitive price that will satisfy the requirements of all of the stakeholders and regulatory agencies involved. All work performed by Arrowstone is conducted under the bylaws and provisions of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA).
